Deadpool & Wolverine – Ugly Dog

We may not have been able to make “fetch” happen, but apparently ugly is in for the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie. The new box office hit features the appearance of Peggy, a new pug-Chinese crested dog, which has sparse hair and it’s tongue hanging several inches out of its mouth….when it’s mouth is closed. Peggy has won competitions as the nation’s ugliest dog in the United Kingdom where she lives with her family.

There’s sparse information about what she actually does in the film but she appears to act as Deadpool’s sidekick (“Dogpool”) but appears to mostly just be a prop for the movie. It’s always the cute dogs that get adopted so maybe this will help that trend and people will realize that dogs don’t realize what they look like and need all the same things regardless of looks.

So while I don’t recommend looking for the ugliest dog to adopt, definitely give some of the overlooked dogs some time when you’re in your local shelter looking for your next dog.
