CDC Modifies Dog Import Rules…Again
As previously reported, the CDC created new guidelines for dogs being imported into the US which are and were effective August 1, 2024. Instead of publishing an update to that previous set of rules, they deleted all of the old web pages and the “Dog Bot” which was an AI based questionnaire to help determine requirements for your specific case and put out a new webpage that you can read here.

So what are the changes compared to the previous set of guidance?
Your dog still needs to be 6 months old so all of the previous reporting and commentary is still valid in that regard. The main change is that dogs being imported from “low risk” (for rabies) countries are back to the previous import rules and dogs in higher risk countries for rabies have more extensive vaccination and documentation requirements which you can read here.
